Pet Friendly Cottages – There’s No Need To Leave Your Beloved Dog Behind!

Category: Vacation Homes – admin 3:08 pm

It’s hard to explain to a dog that you’re just going away on holiday and you’ll be back. Many dogs suffer from separation anxiety and, although they put up with being kennelled, they’re not really happy. Dogs are highly sociable animals, they thrive on joining in and they love being with their own people best. It’s tough leaving a furry family member behind. Thankfully there are plenty of pet friendly cottages whose owners happily include dogs in the deal.

Cornwall is extremely popular with its fine, warm Gulf Stream-led weather and friendly, mellow feel. So if you’re after dog friendly accommodation in Cornwall it’s wise to book early before everything gets snapped up. Take the time to do your research and if you’re lucky you’ll find a place that’s pet friendly and child friendly with lovely luxuries like an outdoor heated pool, tennis court, extensive grounds for your dog to explore and special kids’ play areas.

Dog friendly cottages in Cornwall give you and your pet access to some of the UK’s most beautiful beaches and the finest surfing in Britain. Take a stroll on stunning Bude and Widemouth Bay beaches and watch the surfers. Or take to the waves yourself. Take your dog on walks along the breathtaking, exhilarating South West Coast Path, a genuine jewel in the county’s crown. Or head for the moors together for a rugged day out discovering the beauty of Cornwall’s unique interior. Tiny, winding lanes with high hedges and blind corners. Sleepy villages and remote farms. Patchwork fields and cool copses to rest in, out of the sun. Lush forest, breathtaking sea views, friendly pubs and traditional cream teas…

You don’t necessarily need to compromise on quality when you take your pet on holiday with you. Four star luxury self-catering is still an option. If you like the idea of pretty, pet friendly cottages set in attractive, peaceful five acre grounds – including private woodlands – far from the madding crowds, Glebe House cottages fits the bill perfectly. You and your dog will enjoy a warm West Country welcome!

Moving Blankets And Your Summer Vacation Home

Category: Vacation Homes – admin 3:20 pm

Summer is one of the most celebrated times of the year following Christmas. As a people, we look forward to the days when lawns are lush, the leaves on the trees whisper in the breeze and kids play in sprinklers. Sure, it can get uncomfortably hot, too, but summer still beats winter hands down. For some, summer is especially special because of the memories created at a vacation home or lodge. Lakeside cabins are a fabulous way for families and friends to get together and enjoy lots of activity and sunshine.

But as we all know, winter waits for no family. And neither does school. When August comes around, the beach and the lake are left behind. Talk turns to books and busses.

Although the vacation home has cared for you all summer, it’s now time for you to care for it. Clean out refrigerators and freezers and leave the doors open so they can air out. Disconnect water hoses, including the hose that runs to your washing machine. Cover all furniture and bedding with high quality moving blankets.

The moving blankets will serve as protection should a tremor cause some debris to fall inside the house, or if something more serious were to happen like a tree limb hit the roof and expose the interior to the elements for a short while.

Moving blankets are great at blocking out dust and absorbing odors that often seem to linger in an empty house.

Consider arranging for periodic visits by a security company, or pay a local to check on the house weekly to make sure windows and doors remain securely locked. You don’t want to go all winter without knowing a window was broken near the deck. Take care of your vacation home, and you’ll enjoy it for years to come.

Book a Marrakesh Villa to Explore Toubkal National Park

Category: Vacation Homes – admin 3:35 pm

The Toubkal National Park is the perfect destination for anyone seeking an active break in a Morocco villa. The park is situated close to Marrakesh, which means that there are plenty of accommodation options to anyone who wants to fully explore the great outdoors of this lovely country.

Home to the nation’s highest peak – Mount Toubkal – you are sure to find spectacular scenery on any visit to this part of Morocco. The mountain stands at 4,167 metres in height and is the second highest in Africa, after Kilimanjaro in Kenya. Climbing to the top of this natural wonder might be a challenge which you are ready to take on and one which will be incredibly rewarding, especially as you reach the summit and are presented with striking views across the High Atlas Mountains.

Trekking up the peak from the village of Imlil takes approximately two-and-a-half days, with a similar time to come back down. It is strongly recommended that you enlist the services of a local guide if you intend to take on this challenging climb. But if mountaineering isn’t your thing then don’t worry because there are still plenty of ways for you to enjoy the natural beauty of the Toubkal National Park.

As well as a wide range of hiking routes to suit all abilities, you can also book onto a trekking trip which will take you on a tour through the foothills on the back of a donkey. If you like managing your own time while on holiday then booking a villa in Morocco is a great way to explore this north African country. You can choose when you get up and how much – or how little – you do. Walking around the park you will come across stunning landscapes, including deep gorges carved out of the mountains by rivers and you’re sure to spot some interesting wildlife if you keep your eyes peeled.

Among the creatures you could spot are golden eagles and white snake eagles which can be seen gliding across the clear skies. In addition to the natural scenery, there is plenty on offer for culture vultures who book into Marrakesh villas for their stay. The city has a number of attractions that can keep you occupied for days if you decide to mix your outdoor break with some culture and history.

No visit to Marrakesh would be complete without a visit to one of its many souks – or markets – which can be found on its winding streets. Make sure you leave room in your suitcase for all the trinkets and souvenirs that you’re sure to find in these bazaars. But shopping is not the only activity to do in Marrakesh. Any visit to the city would not be complete without a trip to see some of its most famous monuments.

Among them is the Koutoubia Mosque with its striking minaret that is said to have inspired the builders of the Giralda in Seville. So, if you are looking for a combination of culture and nature on a holiday then you could not find a better place to visit than Marrakesh and the neighbouring Toubkal National Park.By Dipika Patel
