The Toubkal National Park is the perfect destination for anyone seeking an active break in a Morocco villa. The park is situated close to Marrakesh, which means that there are plenty of accommodation options to anyone who wants to fully explore the great outdoors of this lovely country.
Home to the nation’s highest peak – Mount Toubkal – you are sure to find spectacular scenery on any visit to this part of Morocco. The mountain stands at 4,167 metres in height and is the second highest in Africa, after Kilimanjaro in Kenya. Climbing to the top of this natural wonder might be a challenge which you are ready to take on and one which will be incredibly rewarding, especially as you reach the summit and are presented with striking views across the High Atlas Mountains.
Trekking up the peak from the village of Imlil takes approximately two-and-a-half days, with a similar time to come back down. It is strongly recommended that you enlist the services of a local guide if you intend to take on this challenging climb. Any visit to the city would not be complete without a trip to see some of its most famous monuments.
